K-9 Town, USA and Leo the Potbelly Pig

When Omar told dad and me about yesterday's trouble outside of K-9 Town, USA I already knew. He had been pacing for a while before he dashed off.  I wished to myself that I could go again this time and guess what....all of a sudden I was there. With my camera. I'm proud to say I have more proof. My pictures will speak for me. Anyway, here's what happened.
-  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -

While sitting around with nothing to do
Watching Bee Bee do more hair
They heard some footsteps getting close
Turned to see who was coming there.

It was Sookie and Lookie the potbellied pigs
A sad expression on each face
The female piggies were moving fast
Then stopped at Bee Bee's space.

Sisters Sookie and Lookie
My Leo is gone said Lookie
We stayed behind today
The others went out for a while
But now Leo's been taken away.

We heard a noise
And then a crash
Then went outside to see
Leo was out there fighting
With a big ugly yellow tree.

He told us not to follow
Said go get Omar Blue
We couldn't find leader Omar
So we came straight to you.

By the time they finished listening
Each one was up and out
It didn't take much for the female Elders
Gonna see what this was about.

The tree monsters were at it again
Don't think they'll ever learn
This time they've gone a bit too far
Their lesson was gonna be stern.

They didn't make it very far
Before meeting up with the pack
Omar and the other male Elders
Bringing Lookie's Leo back.

Leo was so excited
Couldn't wait to tell it all
How did Omar and his mighty pack
Somehow hear his call.

Sookie was very happy
Had to tell her Mookie too
He had gone off with the others
Next time that's what we'll do.
Lovebirds Leo and Lookie
But alls well that ends well
In a land that's very new
One day these things won't happen
Til then we have Omar Blue.

Wonderful Time At Veterans Hospital

Think I told everybody who would listen that we would be at Veteran's Hospital in Richmond reading my Omar Blue Saga this weekend. Daughter Joy and I had a ball. Our audience did too thank goodness.

Omar wanted to come. Here he's showing me how he would sit and be good for the veterans. I had to tell him he couldn't come because we hadn't planned it with the hospital coordinators.

He was okay with that. He had to get back to K-9 Town, USA anyway. It seems the K-9 Town puppies and King Cat Sateer's kittens aren't abiding by the truce. He was smiling so I know its not a real problem.

I told him later that not only did we have our veterans, but there were scouts there also. All enjoying hearing about him and his pack. He liked that.

After all had been read and done a few stayed for a little chit chat and I admit, silliness.

On a serious note, what a day!

Omar and Babee Blue - Curiosity and the Cats

We're just getting back from K-9 Town. Can't wait to see Ma. We missed her. Babee had a ball. Him and some of the other youngsters spent time at Catdom with King Cat Sateer and getting into mischief with the younger cats.

He wants to know how K-9 Town and Catdom became such good friends. I told him we'd let Ma tell him. It's one of her best stories. He's going to ask her.

Ma, Omar said you would tell me about being friends with Catdom. Okay?

Of course I will. Get your snacks, I'll be right back.

Maaaa! Did you see my good bone?...….Never mind. I found it. We're ready.

Okay boys, this is how the friendship started. Remember, Omar...….

One night, as I sat watching TV, I noticed Omar Blue wasn’t really concentrating on the giant bone in front of him. At least not as much as usual.

He kept looking over at the door. I knew something was up.  Then, there was a scratch at the door. I got up to see what had made the strange noise. Omar at my side, I opened the door. It was for him!

An elderly Sphinx Cat was standing there as proud and regal as could be. Not a trace of fear. He and Omar looked each other in the eyes. Then Omar looked at me. I knew they needed privacy so I pointed upstairs and off they went. I went running for the camera. They weren’t gone long but when they came down I could see that something important had just happened.
Omar told me later what happened upstairs.....

My name is Sateer
I’m the eldest cat there
In the land we both hold so dear.

I come to you
There are things we must do
As my loved ones are living in fear.

I’ve heard as the leader of K-9 Town
You’re as wise
And as fair as can be.

We both know we’ll never
Call ourselves friends
But allies, why not, you and me.

Omar looked in his eyes
He could see no disguise
Sateer was both brave and wise too.

So he made it quite clear
There’d be nothing to fear
But start trouble
I’m coming for you.

This was the beginning
Though neither knew
Of a friendship forever strong.

In the years to come
They would form a bond
In a land where they both belong.

That was the beginning of the wonderful friendship, Babee. Babee…Omar...

I knew neither of them would last the whole story.

My boys.

So glad they're home.
